$$ One-Day Organic Gardening Workshop: Planting & Tending Backyard Fruit Trees

If cared for properly, a single fruit tree can produce over 100 pounds of fruit per year! This workshop will focus on the basics of fertility, soil, pruning and pest management for apples, pears, peaches, plums, apricots and more. Participants will be given hands‐on training in our organic orchard, and walk away with a clear understanding of how to tend their own trees for maximum yield and health.

All one-day garden workshops at Camp Stevens are $45 and include homemade lunch in our Dining Hall.

Unfortunately my work has jumbled up our schedules and I will no longer be able to attend this class. :( Looking forward to the next one though!

FYI- The SD Master Gardeners has their annual Spring Garden Seminar on May 4th from 7:30 - 3pm. There are 21 sessions in three blocks (A-C). Each session costs $15-$25 and they have one class on citrus and avocado. The presenters are pros but it is not as practical as being on a farm ad viewing fruit trees in situ. Thus, I have decided to come your way (Ashley) to see your farm and learn more specifics on fruit tree care. Smiles.

    Hey Organizers-
Master Gardeners puts on events like this for free. Besides a good fruit tree text book costs $30. That's why only four people have registered. Just sayin...

I've taken the organic gardening class and looking forward to this class as well. You do a great job. I've planted a plum, avocado, tangerine, apricot, and fig and I'd like to know how to maintain them.

Will you be doing this class again? I don't see it on your calendar after May 4. My sister-in-law is getting married on that date. The price includes a homemade lunch, too, I see. I would sign up if I didn't have to go to the wedding. I'm sure there is value in this class.
