Homesteading Skills Holiday Craft Fair

This holiday season, support locals businesses at Wild Willow Farm during your one stop shop for all your holiday needs. Learn a homesteading skill, buy or barter your holiday gifts, and fuel up on tasty treats.

Workshops will be running throughout the day. Cost is $10 per person plus any material fee for your workshop. Please pre-register through the Wild Willow website, material fees are due the day of the event.

Day of Event Schedule

10am to 2pm SHOPPING Booths open and Food Trucks serving

11am to 1pm FOOD Wild Willow signature wood-fired pizzas and happy tea served

11am to 4pm Farm Volunteering

9 to 10am WORKSHOP: Photography with Joe Italiano Learn photographic techniques to take more natural, vibrant, and engaging photos of your garden, farm or homestead. We’ll touch on topics including proper camera settings, available and artificial light, composition techniques, subjects, developing themes, selective focus for maximum impact, and challenges of shooting in certain conditions. Please bring your own SLR camera with changeable lenses or point-and-shoot camera.

9 to 10am WORKSHOP: Fermentation 101 with Austin Durant ($5 material fee) LEARN about the lost art of traditionally preserved foods and why they're so good for you! SAMPLE some foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, yogurt, and kombucha, Then you'll get to "DO IT YOURSELF"-- you will make and take home a quart-sized mason jar of your own farm fresh veggies to ferment!

10am to 11am WORKSHOP: Onion Basket Class with Kathleen Romero ($5 material fee) Hand craft a satchel & learn to weave paper/cord designed to gather onions. These elementary baskets are typically woven from onion or garlic stalks. Under 10 years of age would need parental participation.

11am to 12:30pm WORKSHOP: Herbs for Winter Wellness with Nicole Martinez ($6 material fee) Winter weather is coming, protect yourself and your family with herbal remedies you can make at home. Learn to make your own delicious and spicy cough syrup. Safe for the whole family. Presented by Nicole Martinez MH MAED for Krisp Beverages and Natural Foods and San Diego Herb Company

12pm to 1pm WORKSHOP: Knitting with Valerie Yep ($15 material fee) Get a jumpstart on your holiday crafting and learn how to knit! Participants will learn to cast-on, knit, purl, and bind-off while making a simple, yet fun scarf to take home. Wool yarn and needles will be included with the materials fee.

1 to 2pm TOUR Farm Tour ($5)

2 to 3pm WORKSHOP: Soapmaking with Cat Henning ($5 material fee)
Gain an understanding of soapmaking in this 1-hour soapmaking demo. We use farm fresh goat milk and wholesome oils to avoid harsh additives that may be dangerous to one of your most vital organs, your skin.
