Last Saturday, I hosted an herbal tea making workshop and it was a ton of fun. A few folks said they wanted to come but couldn't make it, so I offered to do it again. You can see some feedback from those who attended last week here: http://www.meetup.com/homesteaders-50/events/93205622/
The holidays are coming up - and so is cold and flu season. Come learn to make medicinal herbal teas either for yourself or as gifts for friends. We will talk about growing and drying herbs, but we will be making teas with herbs purchased from People's co-op. (Even if you have to buy herbs instead of growing them, it's usually cheaper to make your own teas instead of buying them pre-made.)
Make and take home your own teas. Teas you can make include ones to ease anxiety, help sleep, ease indigestion, boost your immune system, sooth a sore throat or a cough, ease menstrual cramps or PMS, help you go #2, and more.
Learn about buying herbs, storing herbs, where to learn about the effects of various herbs, and instructions for how to make herbal infusions, decoctions, tinctures, syrups, and more.
The cost of the workshop is $30. You'll take home 2 cups of loose teas that you make yourself. ($8 per additional cup of loose tea you'd like to make.)
We will spend about 1/3 or our time in the garden talking about growing herbs and we'll devote the rest of our time to non-gardening topics (make teas and other herbal remedies, drying herbs, buying herbs, etc).
