Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go to the movies and hear your song playing in the soundtrack?  Last year 18 Songwriter MeetUp members had songs in the 48HFP film festival. Participating songwriters also played live sets at the 48HFP Film Festival for hundreds of attendees.  Here is the link for the 48Hour Film Project:  http://www.48hourfilm.com/sandiego/

Interested in getting  involved?  I hope so, because our goal is to have over 100 songs uploaded to our website, and we're just half way there.  Just 2 weeks until the film frenzy starts.  We are especially looking for instrumentals, but all genres and styles welcome.   Uploading your songs is easy, just follow these directions.

Set up a SoundCloud account.  It’s free, it's easy, and you can use it to share your music with anyone.  Go to www.Soundcloud.com to sign up.  You can use the Free Account setting, it costs nothing to use this service. You can use your existing account, if you have one already.  Or you can just go to this URL and upload directly: http://soundcloud.com/groups/48hfpmusic

After you set up an account upload 3 songs you want to make available to the 48HFP (limit of 3 per active member for now). Remember to put your name and email address in the song title so the film makers can reach you and give you credit in the film titles.  Fill out all the fields, use the Tags to describe the types of movie scene the film would work well in. Make sure one of your Tag words is the word "48hfpmusic".  This tag allows Film makers to find your songs easily.  The genre tag is very visible to the listener so use it wisely.

Settings: Public.  Allow the song to be downloaded.  Click Save.

Join the 48Hour Film Project group.   At top of page click on Groups / Search for Groups.  Enter 48hfpmusic into the search field.  Click on the Join Group button.

To upload songs to the 48hfpmusic Group.  While on the soundcloud.com/groups/48hfp page click the Share a Track button, click Choose File to select a file from your hard drive, or you can click on Select An Already Uploaded File to upload a track from your existing SoundCloud account then click Share Track.

Once your track is uploaded you can edit it by using the little pencil icon on top the track.  You can put comments on the blue bar below the track while it is playing.  Here is an example of one of my tracks as an example for title, tags, comments, etc:
