I am a cognitive linguistics major at UCSD and I became interested in transhumanism while working on the TEDxDelMar: Envisioning Transhumanity conference this past March and April under Rational Thought UCSD.
I would like to learn from and exchange thoughts with like-minded individuals and put my energy into related projects that will make a positive impact.

I am interested in attending lectures, organizational meetings for conference/s, social events, and any events that promote growth, learning, and generating new and useful ideas.
Transhumanism sheds light on the human experience that is relevant to past, present, and future technological progress and the implications of it on the human mind and future outlook of society.

Hi Marielle and welcome! HFSD is a great humanist group that offers many intellectually stimulating and fun activities. You may also want to check out San Diego Secular Humanist Outreach (SD-SHOUT), the sister group of HFSD. We have a couple of meetings in April, including a lecture on Just War Theory by Dr. Saba Bazargan of UCSD's Philosophy Dept. And we are hosting our annual spring picnic at Lake Poway Park after this lecture. Hope to see you at one of our meetings soon!
