2 years ago I organized a group of 20 or so friends and family to head up to watch the Price is Right. It's a little known show secret that group status assures that one member of the group gets to "come on down." On my last trip, my brother was the lucky chosen one and he ended up winning over $28,000 in cash and prizes - which included a new car. So I had this crazy idea that it would be great to take our SDTweetup group on the road and see who gets lucky. I've called ahead, booked a group of 25, and now just need to work out people and carpools. I'll organize the carpools and look into a group party bus, but I do need to know who is willing to drive and how many people you can fit in your car. Anyone have a giant van? :)
Here are the details you NEED to know before you RSVP:
- Please do not RSVP yes unless you are 100% positive you can make it
- Show Time is 1:00pm (show taping is about 1 hour)
- Call Time at the studios is 9:00am
- San Diego Depart Time is 5:30am from a park & ride TBD- yep it's early
- You must be at least 18 years of age
- You must bring 2 forms of ID
- You can't be a contestant if you've already been a contestant on the Price is Right (though you can still come)
- You can't be a contestant if you have been on any other game show, local, syndicated or network, within the past year.
- You can't be affiliated with CBS
- Attire - Our group is SDTweetup, so we all need to represent. If you have something to represent your Twitter identity that would be awesome. I'm going to wear my @jbruin tank that @imagium made for me. You can create your own, order something online (quick), or just use pen, but rest assured you won't get on stage unless you look a like fool and demonstrate that you have a ton of personality.
Just a few extra thoughts:
Every potential contestant is interviewed by the production crew of the Price is Right for approximately 10 - 15 seconds. They ask you what you do professionally and what you like to do for fun. They're looking for energy, spunk, and creativity.
We're limited to bringing 25 members, so please only RSVP if you can come. You can RSVP for one guest, but they do need to be aware of all the requirements and I will need their name, email address, and phone number for coordination purposes.
Also, we can keep our phones and tweet like crazy while we wait in line, but once we enter the studio they will bag them and give us each a tag. Just something to keep in mind. I had zero issues with getting my phone back last time, but I know some of you are super protective of your phones.
Okay stop reading and go RSVP. Space is limited!
