Seven Bridges and Brew

Get out your townie bikes and cruisers for this lazy-paced Saturday social ride and lunch!

Have you seen the seven bridges in uptown? We're going to ride to them all, then finish up at a neighboorhood microbrewery for tasters of beer and most excellent salads and pizza (they also brew their own no-alcohol root beer).

Our toodling-looky-looing route is under 7 miles and includes:
- Vermont St Bridge
- Georgia St Bridge
- Laurel St Bridge
- First St Bridge
- Spruce St Bridge
- Quince St Bridge
- Upas St Bridge (shhh, this one's a bit of a secret)
- Hillcrest Brewing Company

Meet in front of the Joyce Beers Community Center, right next to the Panera and across the way from the Hillcrest Trader Joe's. Bring cash/credit for lunch.

Cool ride with excellent company. Thanks for organizing, Jill, and for looking up all the bridges info for us, too! :D

After lunch we could ride over to the Adams Ave art and music street festival, it's 2 miles long, and free. It is on your return ride home, Lillian :)

Ok, I decided to go ahead and ride my bike to Hillcrest and back home --- that should give me about 30 miles on top of the 7, so I'm comfortable with that, especially since I'll be riding on Sunday. Just hoping it won't be too hot to ride back home at a decent hour!! I have a birthday party to go to in the evening.

This sounds like such a cool little ride. But I am going to join the Luna Chix tomorrow instead. Just looking for a longer ride. Maybe we can do a repeat on a weekday after work, since it's so short?

Upas St Bridge... Are you sure you want to ride that thing on a cruiser?? :D (well, it isn't the bridge that's steep but the ramps on either side)

Oh yes, it is an unwritten rule of coolness and acceptability for townie bikes and cruisers to walk up that ramp :D
