For our second club dive of the season, we will be returning to Dutch Springs for DUI Demo Day on Sunday, May 19. This is always a fun day, and a great time to try out DUI drysuits if you're in the market for a drysuit, or just want to try out drysuit diving. You don't need a drysuit certification to do the demo.
We highly recommend you buy your ticket in advance, because they have sold out in years past:
Be sure to select "Bethlehem, PA May 19" when purchasing the ticket. Note that the $10 fee is just for the DUI demo; that does not include entrance to Dutch, which is $37.
Dutch Springs, Pennsylvania (1.5 hour drive from Manhattan)
4733 Hanoverville Road
Bethlehem, PA 18020
For directions, go to: www.dutchsprings.com/direction.html
Reservations: Please RSVP to [masked]
Transportation: If you need a ride or are willing to share in the cost of a rental car, let us know when you RSVP and we will try to help coordinate. Please also let us know if you can offer a ride.
Price: $37 entrance fee to Dutch Springs (can be purchased online in advance at www.dutchsprings.com).
Food: Park has concession stands with food and water. The club will also provide some light snacks (e.g. chips, cookies)
Depth: 40 feet to 70 feet with plenty of things to see underwater — a bus, a plane, boats, a helicopter!
Exposure Protection: It's still cold! Water temps ranged from the low 40s to low 50s last weekend. You should have at least a 5mm or 7mm wetsuit (or a drysuit), hood and gloves.
If you are taking part in the demo, DUI will provide drysuits, drysuit undergarments and a drysuit hose to attach to your reg. You need to bring everything else. Tanks can be rented at Dutch (AL80s only) or Lehigh Valley Dive Center [masked]), which is just down the road from Dutch on Rt 191. If you do not have a drysuit cert, DUI will require you to dive with one of their volunteer divemasters.

As with all Sea Gypsy dives, the club does not provide training, guiding or buddies - you alone are responsible for determining your fitness for each dive.
