"Alaska, Both Below and Above the Waterline" by Larry Cohen and Olga Torrey

Alaska is a hot tourist destination that is very cool (water temp 47 degrees Fahrenheit). Tourists travel by cruise ship and train to experience the splendor of this temperate rain forest. A few hardy explorers venture beneath the waterline to see wolf eels, salmon, a forest of giant Metridium anemones, and other amazing underwater scenes. Long time Sea Gypsy members Larry Cohen and Olga Torrey will show images that captured the beauty of this cold-water environment and the landscape above.

Larry Cohen has been creating underwater images since 1989. His photos have appeared in publications such as Sport Diver, Scuba Diving, Diver, Immersed Magazine, Sub Aqua Journal, Alert Diver, X-Ray Magazine, Northeast Dive News and many others. Larry is a founding member of the New York Underwater Photographic Society and is a past president of The NYC Sea Gypsies. He crews on the New Jersey dive boat John Jack. Larry spends way too much time at B&H Photo where he can answer your underwater camera questions in Live Chat or by emailing him at [masked]. See his work at

Olga Torrey has a college honor degree in physical education. She worked as a gym teacher, athletic director, and as a gym owner back in the former USSR. She has been living in Manhattan for the past 20 years, where she works as a fitness trainer. Olga is a fine artist and a Life member of the Art Students League of New York. She has been published in InVetrum, X-Ray Magazine, Northeast Dive News and The Ultimate Depth.
