Wet! Reefs, wrecks, or ice. It's all good. Would like to do intro cavern/cave next. Anyone up for Ginnie Springs, FL? Would like to dive with anyone familiar with Beach 9th St. Rockaway. Finally got to SoCal and can't wait to get back!
500+ Certified around 1986 when I lived in St Thomas, USVI, but I never pursued it. Now of course I could kick myself! A friend got my son scuba lessons when he was 12 and I went along. This time the bug bit, and we've been at it just over a decade.
Been to: Wreck of the RMS Rhone, Tortola, British Virgin Islands. Wanna go: Antarctica Love the Caribbean, but a recent trip to Catalina just wowed me. Gotta get back to that kelp! So much water, so little air. I am particularly drawn to the the off-beat out of the way places. Swamps, urban tributaries, flooded basements.
Always trying to stay wet! As a member of the NY Aquarium Volunteer Dive Team, I get to do exactly that. Dive coral reefs in Feb. with no airfare! Local diving at its grandest? Well, we've got charismatic megafauna and 76 degree water... Stay wet!
Great collection of experienced divers (including many with lots of time underwater here in the northeast) who are friendly, inviting, and generously share their knowledge.
