hi mark,

    not sure exactly what you are looking for (a method, a library  
etc.), but i would start with apache mod_rewrite and cleanURLs.  once  
you have a single control script (top level index.php) catching all  
requests, you can easily create a map converting

	/Category/3/Product/­23

		to

	file.php?category_id­=3&product_id=23­
