John Marzluff is the author of Gifts of the Crow: How Perception, Emotion, and Thought Allow Smart Birds to Behave Like Humans. (We will be discussing this book at our eastside meeting on January 20, 2013. To RSVP for the book discussion, visit http://www.meetup.com/seattle-bookreaders/events/91985392/)
We may barely notice the crows in our neighborhood, but they are remembering us and will judge us friend or foe depending on how we interact with them. John Marzluff, UW professor of wildlife science, will discuss his research showing the amazing intelligence of the birds from the corvid family--crows, ravens and jays. Dr. Marzluff's research was featured on the PBS documentary Nature: A Murder of Crows.
