Seattle Cinema Club Pages

We are a social group that attends a variety of films together--indie, arthouse, foreign, documentaries, classics, and occasionally popular films. After a movie, we often gather at a café or restaurant for casual conversations about the movie, about other movies, and other topics.

In addition to movies, we sometimes have other events on our calendar. These events may be film related, such as lectures and talks on a film or director, or they may be non-film related, such seeing a play or having coffee.

Guidelines and rules:

Treat others as you would like to be treated.

Terms of Service Agreement: It is the responsibility of each Cinema Club member to respect the rules of' s Terms of Service Agreement and to respect rules of the Cinema Club.

Movie/Lecture/Performance content: The content of any movie, lecture, performance or any other event that the group attends does not necessarily reflect the views of the group or any organizers or members.

Each movie attendee is responsible for deciding whether the movie is a good fit for him or her. Organizers do not necessarily know the content of a film, so members need to do their own research.

Member comments: Member's comments on the group's pages may be removed or edited without notice.

Dining out with the group:

When dining out with the group, each member is required to pay for his or her fair share of the bill. This would include individual purchases, sales tax and tip as required. Some restaurants add the tip on the bill for large parties. (A "large party is defined by the restaurant.) Please respect restaurant policies.

Some restaurants will not provide separate checks for large parties. And some will limit the number of credit and debit cards they will take per party. Therefore please bring some cash when dining out with the group. It's helpful to bring small bills.

Removal from the group:

Members may be removed from the Cinema Club at any time for any reason. Reasons for permanent removal from the group may include but are not limited to:

  • communicating information or opinions, in private or public communication, that is threatening, harassing or libelous

  • misconduct in violation of the rules and policies of a venue when out with the group

  • disrespectful behavior toward another member, a group of members, or any organizer (this includes rude or obnoxious behavior in person or private and public communications)

Removal from the group is at the discretion of the organizers. Sometimes a member in violation may receive a a warning and second chance, but there may be times when members are removed without warning. Again, this is at the discretion of the organizers.

Note: Members removed solely for inactivity may rejoin.
