We will be attending the 8:00 showing of "Searching for Sugar Man" at the SIFF/Uptown Theater in lower Queen Anne. This inspirational film won the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature at the recent Academy Awards, and a profile of the subject of this film, musician Sixto Rodriguez, has been broadcast on the "60 Minutes" television show. Here is a description of this film taken from the Landmark Theatres's web site:
"How is it possible that a musician named Rodriguez could bomb with two albums in the U.S., disappear into obscurity for years and then be unknowingly resurrected as a successful, inspirational hero in totally different country? Searching for Sugar Man tells the uplifting, almost unbelievable true mystery of Rodriguez, a story more extraordinary than any of the existing myths about him. From the producer of the Oscar-winning Man on Wire, Searching for Sugar Man is that rare film which connects with audiences and critics alike on an extraordinarily emotional level. Winner two awards at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, including the Audience Award, director Malik Bendjelloul's documentary is a film about hope, inspiration and the resonating power of music. Academy Award winner for Best Documentary Feature."

Meet me in the lobby of the SIFF/Uptown Theater at 7:45. I am an Asian male who wears glasses and who will probably be wearing a hat of some type (beret, black rain hat). A head shot of me appears in the photo section of my profile so you can see for whom to look. My cell phone,[masked], will be on until the start of the program.
There will be an optional food and beverage stop after the film has ended (i.e, after all the credits have scrolled by). Meet me in the lobby if you are interested in this.
Because this film does not start until 8:00 there will be an optional food stop prior to the showing. If you are interested in a light meal or snack please meet me outside of the theater box office at 6:45. We will patronize an inexpensive "fast food" restaurant such as the Blue Water Taco Grill or Pagliacci Pizza all of which are within a half block from the Uptown. If you show up late and can't find us give me a call.
