"Muppets Most Wanted" @ Varsity Theater (University District)

Have you ever wondered how Kermit the Frog would fare inside a Russian prison? Here is your chance to find out as we attend the 7:05 pm showing of “Muppets Most Wanted” at the Varsity Theater in Seattle's University District. Here is a description of this delightful and sometimes brilliant film taken from Landmark Theatres' website:

“Disney's Muppets Most Wanted takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe's most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World's Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit the Frog—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film also stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon. Disney's Muppets Most Wanted, directed and co-written by James Bobin, features music from Academy Award-winning songwriter Bret McKenzie (The Muppets). Plus short: "Party Central." “

Meet me in the lobby of the Varsity Theater at 6:45. I am an Asian male who wears glasses and who will be wearing some type of hat (beret, hiker's rain hat, African brimless kufi). A head shot of me appears in the photo section of my profile so you can see for whom to look. My cell phone, [masked], will be on until the start of the program at 7:05

Do not send text messages or post comments on the meetup.com web site at the last minute; I use a cell phone that does not have the capability to receive such text messages. Please call if you need to contact me.

There will be an optional snack and beverage stop at the conclusion of the film (conclusion = after all the credits have been shown). Meet me in the lobby of the theater where we will discuss our options of which cafe to patronize.

If you are interested in having a light meal before the film meet me at the Best of Bento restaurant located at 4245 University Way (across the street from the US Post Office). This establishment serves various styles of Asian food: tempura, sushi, Korean, bento, Chinese. Dinner can be had for about $8 plus tax and tip. Meet me in the restaurant at 5:45 or later, but no so late that you will have to skip dinner.

Parking note: The U District street parking spots are metered until 8:00 pm. So, if you wish to avoid having to pay for parking you can use the University of Washington parking lot which is free from 12:00 noon on Saturday until 9:00 am on Monday unless there is a special event going on. Use the main entrance to the UW at 17th Avenue and NE 45th Street. After you have driven onto the campus you will see a large parking lot on the right (near the Burke Museum). My recommendation is to park on the south side of the lot near 15th Street; this will minimize your walk through the lot after the meetup.
