Explorer: Storyville Coffee Pike Place

There's a new coffee place opening up in Pike Place Market where the restaurant Chez Shea used to be. The "roasting studio" is on Bainbridge Island.

They've got a pretty slick marketing package, but we'll see whether the coffee lives up to the pretty pictures!

Someone shared this link on the indie coffee facebook site, alerting people that this cafe has ties to Mars Hill Church: http://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/comments/1mss0q/ysk_that_the_new_designer_coffee_shop_in_pike/

I did a little extra looking and found this article - one quote of note is "Storyville Coffee Company has already partnered with Mars Hill Church and donated tens of thousands of dollars to their downtown church plants." http://www.bradruggles.com/2009/05/22/let-me-introduce-you-to-storyville-coffee/

I went to look for ONE good compelling link to tip off those curious why I for one will not support a business with such ties and money directed toward pushing more of these churches into our community and I found this page with just a treasure trove of links - check out the July[masked] post: http://marshillrefuge.blogspot.com/

I don't think so Ann. I didn't attend this meetup. I have a couple friends that belong in this church. Luckily, they haven't attempted to convert me and we are still friends. It was a separate incident when out of curiosity I accepted to attend their church one time a couple years ago. I felt cornered into explaining myself why I don't accept Jesus as my savior blah blah blah

Everything was free which made everything taste better! The coffee was good but not exceptional! The pastries were wonderful. They spent a lot of money on the d├ęcor!! I really enjoyed visiting with people and meeting some folks that I hadn't met. Thank you Ann for hosting!!!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
