Let us make a road trip to Tacoma to revisit the coffee scene out there
The following is the tentative schedule of events
We will meet at Blue Beard Coffee Roasters at 9 AM.
(P.S - I would not be coordinating the car pooling portion of the trip. But you may use the comments section of this event to find car pool partners if you want to car pool. Since many of you live around North Seattle, you may want to congregate at Green Lake Park and Ride and car pool from there. I however would be driving straight to Tacoma since I live on the East-side. If you do carpool you are responsible for being in touch with your designated driver during this road trip)
Next we would visit Metronome Coffee followed by Valhalla Coffee
We can plan on spending a half hour in each of these coffee shops.
(All these three coffee shops - Blue Beard, Metronome and Valhalla are located on 6th avenue. But in the interests of saving time we may want to drive from Blue Beard to Metronome. We may however walk from Metronome to Valhalla)
At around 11:30 we have lunch
(P.S. - Over here also, I would not plan on any one specific restaurant for all of us because - (a) different people may be in a mood for different cuisines (b) Going to one restaurant as a large group may require prior reservations (c) It becomes difficult for the waiters when a large group shows up and everyone wants to pay individually. It would also slow us down.
So kindly make your own lunch choices by socializing with the rest of the group and choosing your own lunch buddies. :))
At around 1 PM we would meet at Anthem Coffee and Tea in downtown Tacoma (about 10 minutes drive from Metronome Coffee/Valhalla Coffee) to grab our afternoon espressos
At around 1:30 PM we can check out the nearby Washington State History Museum (The general admission fee is $9.50 and AAA members and students get a discount)
(P.S. - If art interests you more than history, you may want to check out the Museum of Glass instead of the Washington State History Museum. Even though the Museum of Glass and Washington State History Museum are very close to each other, in the limited time we have, I think we may be able to cover only one of the them (not 100% sure on this :))
Between 5 PM and 5:30 PM we can visit and take a walk down the bridge of glass.
At around 5:30 we may assemble on or near the Bridge of glass and then head to Bertolino Bros Coffee Bar (This is optional in case you want to head home earlier)
At 6 PM we could meet at Bertolino Bros Coffee Bar
At around 7 PM we would head home
(P.S - I would be posting the addresses for each of those places soon)
