Here's a chance to strut your stuff!
Canine Costumes are encouraged :) Or maybe the latest in ruffwear design will do.
See you soon!

We'll hangout at the Clay Studio for the first 5-10 minutes and hopefully that'll buy Melody some time as well.
Oh, and Pepper will be taking the day off unfortunately since she will have just been to the Vet. She'll be with us in spirit :)

I am finally here
I just realized the time and won't be out of work for a bit. Boo!! Ashley, I was really looking forward to joining you guys and the pups.
Oops, instead of Ashley I meant Sorry. Silly spell check.
Clay Studio? Where is this in relation to the turnaround and bathrooms. Thanks!

Clay studio is just a step or two north of the bathrooms. Can't miss us !
So there are two buildings next to eachother?
It's the building at the mouth of the North trail entrance. If you're standing outside the bathrooms you can see the Clay studio which is essentially across the street. Google maps - earth - was sorta helpful in giving me a visual. Here's the link: https://maps.google.co...
Got it. Thank you.

Great article I found online:
Rufus was a PAWS dog! Danette is great. We recently attended her Nose Work demo (actually led by Erica) at Tails of the City in Georgetown. Hoping the get Bauer enrolled in the class in January to help with the cold, dark winter days when we all just get less exercise. Nose work is a great way for dogs with "issues" to socialize since they are on their own and do not interact with other dogs.

Just a minute ago I sent Danette an invite to our group! I've wanted Pepper to get into Nose Work, I think she would LOVE it. She naturally gets a little bossy with her snout and if there aren't other dogs to interact with, all the better for Pepper, at least for now. Maybe we'll put her enrollment in her stocking as a xmas gift! :)
I think Nosework would be PERFECT for Pepper! It's super positive, fun for the dogs, and every dog can do it. Erica the trainer is great too. Sounds like an awesome xmas present. :)
Hi everyone. Sorry I've been so quiet in all of this. Busy times. Not sure if you contacted PAWS or not about a work party. I volunteer there but have no power when it comes to allowing others to volunteer on site so not sure if I can help or not. What I do know is that you have to go through training to handle any of the dogs, so a work party would have to consist of cleaning up the grounds or something (is my guess). If there is something organized I won't be able to make it. I'm cohosting a 2pm baby shower that day which is of course smack dab in the middle of the day!

Erin -- We did contact PAWS but didn't get very far. Perhaps it's something a bunch of us can work towards doing for NAPD 2013! I'd really like to see a small group of us donate our time to the dogs that are still waiting for a forever home.
Hi Rochelle - I'm sorry that didn't work out. Yes - perhaps next year! (I've already put a reminder in my Outlook calendar that I should get on this sooner). I can also start sending out feelers to see if I can find out who we need to talk to in order to get a better response. :)

Since it sounds like I may not be able to attend an actual "event," I still plan on participating by sending out an e-mail on Oct. 27 to everyone in my address book (as well as posting on Facebook) letting them know it's NPBAD. I was thinking of attaching one of our our cute, fun pics of our bullies playing together along with some facts about the breed. I will also include info on breed discrimination and legislature, as well as the actual link to NPBAD at http://www.nationalpitbullawarenessday.org One of there suggestions for events is the "Find the Pit Bull Display" which is cool so i'm going to include that in my e-mail. I also saw on the site that there events going on in Olympia and Monroe if people are willing to take a little drive.
Sorry - A change in plans has made it necessary to change my RSVP for 10/27th to NO. Nonetheless, I'll have Raphaela with me at Suncadia that day and she'll no doubt win the hearts and minds of everyone she meets :)

Hi. Is something planned for this day? There isn't a location listed and nothing is listed under the pitbul awareness website.

Hey Sandra, checked out the FB page, a walk sounds like an awesome idea. Rochelle and I were kicking around a few ideas (after we learned about NPBAD from you! thanks!) and were thinking something volunteerish might be cool. Like maybe a work party at PAWS or ???

Shae, should we just say a work party at PAWS? Did you reach out to them? It looks like someone needs to make an executive decision! ;)

I want to be back in washington in time for bully day, but I'm not sure I will.

Rafi and I are looking forward to joining you. I found this information online: http://www.nationalpitbullawarenessday.org/I was disheartened to see nothing listed for Washington State.
