I have been painting professionally for many years, and without a doubt I have spent more time painting outdoors "en plein air" than ever in my studio.
Oh, that is easy. The Louvre Museum, Paris, France. A 1700's painting of my great-great-(etc) grandfather hangs there, François Boucher
Every hue of every sky, landscape shade and shadow, including some colors almost no-one else sees.
I can learn from so many from so many ages, but I might say post impressionists, more particularly the Fauvists Emil Nolde and Georges Rouault.
I love to meet and share with other artists, and can demonstrate while others watch or on group excursions, but when I work, as Greta Garbo famously said, "I want to be alone."
Painting and meeting and talking to other artists is my passion. Devita Stipek Writer: En plein air Oil paintings; commissioned architectural art and murals.
