Code With Me is an event meant to help teach journalists how to code. Code With Me works by hooking up journalists with Web folk like us to mentor them in html, css, and js. They are having a workshop this May 5,6 in Portland and had so many applications that they need to find more mentors.
If you know html, css, and js and are excited about to teaching folk new to programming, then you could be a mentor. I and several other Web developers are volunteering our time so I thought I'd share this opportunity with our group too.
"Code with me's mission is to help journalists overcome their fear of code and use it to tell the stories they couldn't before. By pairing students with mentors we'll build self-supporting, local coding communities, and give our students the confidence and skills to teach themselves what they want to learn next."
