First Thursday Art Walk in Seattle's Historic Pioneer Square

OK Let's meet at Collins Pub first at 5p. Then at 6pm our group will head to 4Culture. At 7p, we will be headed towards Foster White.

There are so many places to go! I invite you to hang out with the group but feel free to venture off on your own if you choose. It's up to you! I'm thinking we'll want to do this art walk again next month so we can see some more of the galleries that we miss this time. We'll see...

5p Meet at Collins Pub

6p Walk to 4Culture

7p Walk to Foster White Gallery

If there is any time available, we can explore the galleries (about 11 of them!) clustered in between Yesler Way and S Washington St on 3rd and S Washington St.

See you there!!!

Parking (See Map):

Since I like to Park n' Ride, I don't have personal experience with parking in this area. However, the map shows a relatively close parking lot on 3rd Ave and Cherry. Another one that looks to be equally as close is on 2nd Ave S and S Jackson St. Unless someone has ideas about this, I'll leave this up to you.

My Thoughts:

First Thursday Art Walk is super exciting with a lot of galleries to see. The art walk actually officially begins at noon-- with individual venues possibly having different open times, so make sure you check if there is a particular place you had in mind to see. I recommend coming earlier if you can and exploring other blocks that aren't scheduled for our group this month. There is an information kiosk on the corner of Occidental Ave S and S Main St.

Here is a link to a film you might find interesting.
    Hurry, it will expire.

What was very interesting to me was to watch at about the 36:00 mark was the process of the painter. It seemed to me he was painting his own studio and the painting kept changing and changing. He did not have a plan for how this was going to turn out.

Just made the reservation. It's going to be busy because of the art walk. So keep that in mind if you are planning on having a meal you might want to have a snack ahead of time. Can't wait to see you all! One more thing, it really does help when you keep your RSVP up-to-date because then we don't try to hold to big of a table or too many seats. So a big thank you to people who help us out with this <3

Rachel, Hey lady! I hope you are well rested and tanned! ;)

I wanted to ask about where we are meeting, since 4Culture opens at 6pm? Art walk starts at 5pm?? Maybe we should have an idea witch galleries to see that are close to each other? Maybe we can meet at another venue close by the 4Culture?

    Can I help in anyway?

Hi Christina :) So happy to find your note on the message board here! Just got back... I have to do a little more homework on where we're gonna start out. I'm more than open to ideas if there is any place anyone would like to try... either that or I'll pick a place :) Looks like we're gonna have another awesome turnout with interesting and arty peops! Can't wait to see you all!

      February 28, 2013

    • Rachel H.

Oh! ...and about helping... I can always use another friendly, fun, knowledgable person like yourself to help greet people and stoke the conversation and if you have ideas you'd like to see happen, don't hesitate! :)

It would seem that a Friday meet up for First Thursday would make everyone a tad fashionably late.

Ha! Thanks Frank... Someone's gotta keep me in check! Sorry everyone. I'll update it.
