BAMignite: Zoom. Italian Design and Photography

This is going to be a fun evening!!! Each time I have gone to BAMignite, it has just gotten better and better... There could be no better way to see art and have a cocktail! Everyone dresses up and it's just a top-knotch party where you will likely be able to meet all sorts of art lovers! Don't miss this one! We will be meeting up ahead of time for Cocktail Hour at one of the neighboring bars.

"Please mark your calendar and join us in celebration of yet another landmark exhibition:
Zoom. Italian Design and the Photography of Aldo and Marirosa Ballo

Music, dancing, art-making, and performances make this after-hours event one of BAM's most popular programs.

Costume attire encouraged! Think Italian mafia & La Dolce Vita."

Click the link to go to Bellevue Arts Museum website and see a video to get an idea of what to expect :) (or ask Rachel)

http://www.bellevuearts.org/calendar/bamignite.html

6:30pm Meet at Rock Bottom Brewery (Tentatively, I will try to secure a space upstairs, but am in the process of getting in contact with the restaurant to make sure they can accommodate us. Please check back to see if I updated the info for the Cocktail Hour so we end up together!)

7:45pm Walk over to Bellevue Arts Museum

8:00pm BAMignite!! View the art and enjoy the party at your own pace.

Admission: $10 in advance, $12 at the door

https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=bellevue&id=3

(I highly recommend getting your ticket in advance.)

Dresscode: La Dolce Vita or Cocktail attire-- Dress to have fun!! Dress to feel fabulous!

Parking: There is limited free parking in the garage by the museum. However, I usually park at Bellevue Square. It's free and it's a short walk. Plan for heavy traffic once you get into Bellevue.

Helpful Hints:

1. Culture of Friendliness: Help me continue our culture of friendliness and welcome and say hi to each and every person who makes the effort to come meet up with you and me. This is a simple, yet effective way to connect with someone.

2. About dress: While this particular meetup has a dresscode, it is for fun. We are a group who welcomes everyone regardless of how they dress.

3. Being Present: Be conscientious of cell phone usage and how that impacts other people who are around you who came there to meet up with you.

4. RSVPs: Try to keep them up-to-date! It's nice because it helps me coordinate everyone with the venue, so we have a good time! Also, if someone sees your RSVP and thinks you will show up, they may be looking forward to seeing you. You can always post updates in the comments if you are delayed or something comes up.

Hello Rachel, I went to fineartworkshop.org. Out of the bunch, I like your mad-color series the most. Keep it up, and I will get to see them life one day :-)

Great event - thanks for organizing ! I'll be at BAM, but arriving late (likely after 8) as I promised to attend an earlier function. Will find a Black/White outfit...

Hi Kathleen, no worries-- Thanks for letting us know :) It may be difficult to connect because I anticipate there being a lot of people. If you like, we can plan on an additional meeting point if you know for sure that you'll be there by a certain time. You can just let me know. That way I can connect you with the group.

Thanks so much for the kind thoughts, Rachel ! My previous meeting is likely to go to at least 8pm, so I wouldn't arrive at BAM til late, 8:30 or 9ish

    Hi Rachel,
I bought my ticket! I am dressing up in 60's style and I hope I'm NOT the only one! I will feel ridicules
if I'm the only one! Are you dressing up too Rachel? and the rest of the group???? I just want to remind everyone that this is Friday night and the traffic getting off at 8th will be bad, try getting off at 4th exit. In case anyone needs it, here is the address for... Rock Bottom Brewery[masked]th Ave. NE Suite 103
    Bellevue, WA 98004 [masked]

OK everyone be safe driving and I will see you there! You too Rachel!

    Christina ;)

About the Happy Hour, I'll tell the front desk at the restaurant where we are going to be at since they don't reserve spaces for groups. We'll just take over our little corner ;) So when you arrive, you can check in with the staff. I will still try to find space upstairs for us.

***Pretty please*** keep your RSVP up-to-date so I don't hold too many spots. Thank you kindly :)

Thanks for letting us know, Jackie. Hope to see you there! Maybe we should plan another meeting point for you and Kathleen if you know what time you can be there?? Just throwing it out there. Post in the comments if you'd like to do that. That way both of you can get connected with people in our group.

Hi Nan, That understandable. Have a great trip and thanks for letting us know :)

      April 10, 2013

Hey Rachel!! How are we paying for this? If it is more than 4 attending it is $8.00. Do you need to set this up?

Hope you are doing well. Talk to you soon!. I'd also like to ask about the dress up style? It said to dress in Black and White?? or is it 60's style?

    Christina ;)

    April 6, 2013

    • Rachel H.

About the dress up style-- Yes, 60's cocktail would be good... but regular cocktail attire would work too if you aren't able. Either way, dress so that you feel fabulous. Don't worry if it's the perfect thing just come out to meet some awesome people and to enjoy BAM's wonderful party :)

What we can do in the future, if the group would like, is I can set a fee on the meetup to cover costs like this. That way things are simplified and I can just pay for everyone at once. One thing I notice is that if I post a fee on a meetup, it seems to deter people from signing up. It gets complicated to host-- greeting everyone and coordinating the Happy Hour, hosting the group at the event, that I would loath being responsible for cash at the actual event where I would have to also add the responsibility of handling, potentially, 40 people's money on the spot. So that is why I prefer not to do it that way. I would encourage you to get together with members that you already know and organize a subgroup to get the deal. People who are interested in coordinating for this need to post in the comment so you can be contacted. Thank you.

I've never been to one of these. Do you suggest that I purchase tickets in advance?

    1 · April 1, 2013

    • Rachel H.

Great question, Heather. Yes, I would recommend purchasing your ticket in advance so you don't have to wait in line. There is interest in pooling money so that our group gets the cheaper rate, but unless I can get another member to help me with that, I'm not going to worry about it. I'm about to update the details and announce it so hopefully that will help everyone. I apologize for the delayed response. I look forward to meeting you soon!
