    Forecast as of now for Adams. I might reconsider as i have never done this hike and i would prefer clearer weather. I will still be contacting the rangers tomorrow.

    Why do you say the 5 miles hike to trailhead? Looks like it is open..

    Also, I was planning for the same trip on the memorial day weekend.. have fun, and post about the weather and snow conditions if possible after the climb..

    Would love to do this but am waiting til Julyish to make sure I have everything I need. In the meantime i have wanted to hike to camp muir since I got here if anyone is going in the coming weeks let me know!

    I want to do this hike in done Camp Muir and have discussed doing this with friends. I have snowshoes and crampons but no ice Axe will trekking poles work as a substitute. I have gone as far as 12 miles in snowshoes

    Would love to do this. Any advice or thoughts on technical skill level? Equipment? Sounds like summitpost.org at least recommends crampons and ice axe.

      I have not done much with ice ax and crampons. I have snow shoes and those strap on ice stud things for my boots.

      The yak tracks might do ok for getting to camp but i think crampons are going to be a must. They have been getting snow this week and looks like over the weekend also.
