New Organizer and request for topics

Dan has given me the green light on organizing JavaScript meetups and helping this group become active again. I'm currently in the process of nailing down a few sponsors to help pay for food and drinks during the meet ups and a nice place for presenters to show off their media and expertise.

The first thing I'd like to offer is for anyone else to be an organizer. Keep in mind that organizer just means that you're actively organizing events and not just given the title. If you have a space available and can pull in a presenter on topics that you think would be really worthwhile for the group members then let me know your plan and we'll make it happen.

Next topic is regarding presenting. There has been a ton of changes in the last 6 months with JavaScript. We now have a Node.JS meetup as well as a JavaScript game development meetup that focuses on specific uses of JavaScript in Seattle. This doesn't mean our group can't discuss these topics but it would be better to collaborate with the other groups and pass knowledge and information about the events so we have even more knowledge sharing going on.

Finally, I'd like to make a call-out for presenters. If you have presented recently, have slides and a topic please send me a reply and I'll make sure to put you in queue for a future event. If you also have ideas on presenting something please send me your idea. Even if it's not your expertise, that's okay. An idea is where it all begins.

So a little background on your new organizer: I am currently working on the Apple Online Store as a Lead front-end engineer. I'm a contributor to Coherent which is a proprietary JavaScript library and framework that our original organizer (Jeff Watkins) authored back in 2005. It's come a long way since then and has included some extensive build tools and complete refactors but it's still called Coherent :)

Anyways, I look forward to meeting you all at the next meetup!
