CascadiaJS 2013 is Coming!

Hey SeattleJS,

We have finally (finally!) locked on dates and a venue for CascadiaJS 2013. We're super excited about this year's event, I hope this email answers any questions you all might have about...

CascadiaJS 2013 will be taking place in Vancouver, BC on November 14 & 15. I know this location doesn't work for everyone, but we created CJS to be a "JSConf for the PacNW". That means rotating the conference among the 3 tech hubs of the Pacific Northwest: Portland, Seattle and Vancouver. This year we will be organizing an official Geeks on a Train event on the Wednesday (Nov 13) before the conference. It will start in Portland, stop in Seattle and end in Vancouver. It will be amazing.

Tickets have not gone on sale yet, but will soon. Just like last year, we are going to sell a limited batch of Early Bird tickets at very discounted prices. The best way to get informed when Early Bird tickets go on sale is to subscribe to this year's mailing list and/or to follow @CascadiaJS on Twitter.

Just like last year we will be running a public Call for Amazing Speakers on Github. Please read our guide for submitting a proposal if you're interested in speaking. I really want to stress that anyone who writes code and is passionate about JavaScript can be an excellent speaker at CascadiaJS. Many of last year's speakers were first-time speakers. If you have any doubt about whether you should submit a talk proposal, please shoot us an email. We're happy to work through your idea and provide feedback.

We're also looking for proposals on JS in interesting places. That starts with JS on the phone and in the operating system, but extends as far as your imagination: cars, robots, embedded systems, chipsets, you name it!

Lastly, if your company is interested in learning more about being a sponsor, they can find sponsorship information on the CascadiaJS 2013 website. I cannot stress enough how important our sponsors are. CascadiaJS cannot provide the kind of experience that we do without support from companies in the JS community. If you have any questions about sponsorships, please contact us anytime.
