One of my first jobs in Seattle was at the Pike St. Market, (early 1980's) and each day we set up our retail in a different spot. Our marketing was based on camraderie and a variety of craft merchants which helped everyone sell their merchandise.
Ideas, ideas, ideas, ideas, ideas, ideas, and a good market to play them on.
Posing for photos in Macy's windows with their mannequins. The ladies's lounge is on the 2nd floor, so I change into an outfit up there, I run down the escalator and pose in the window while a friend photographer snaps photos from outside!
I like Target TV commercials but am always disappointed when I go to their stores with my date.
I like graphics and video because they blend reality and fantasy.
Marketing is a way of life whether it is retail, artspeak, adspeak or mediaspeak. I have an interest in it all, and am currently designing new labels for the Van Villas family linen clothing line. It's all good.
