TL;DR Description: I wanted a place where meetup and event organizers can come together to meet other organizers with the specific purpose of teaching each other, knowledge sharing, and improving the average quality of events in Seattle. So I made one. (hint: it's this)
Full description: I've started and run many communities and events, and I'm always looking for ways to improve them. The first few times, I wasn't even planning on starting a community - I just invited a few friends over. It happened again the next week, it grew and grew, and one day I looked around and thought "Wait, why is everyone looking at me- oh damnit." No one taught me how to run events or a community, it was all trial and a lot of errors.
This seems to be a pretty common story. Many leaders and organizers learn how to lead and organize on their own - which is great. But, it can also be hard. That's why I'm creating The Seattle Metameetup.
My goal is to increase the quality of events in Seattle by having Organizers teach other Organizers how to be better Organizers. The focus will be knowledge transfer both by discussion and short, topic-specific presentations.
