The Healing Breath - A Breathwork Ceremony

"Breath is the key to ultimate emancipation."

- Hatha Yoga Pradipika

The Hindu scriptures describe the process of regulating the breath as a means to bridge the individual self and the universal soul. In this breathwork circle, participants will use a simple 2-part breathing technique for one hour to enter a state of heightened awareness and access the place beyond the rational, thinking mind – a place in which profound insight, discovery, and feelings of deep peace can occur. This type of deep pranayama is a powerful tool to clear energetic congestion and support healing at all levels – mind, body, and soul.

Integrating her experience as a shamanic practitioner, Tai will guide the journey with drumming and chanting (medicine songs). She and assistant Sara Wyckoff will hold a strong container in which participants can fully surrender to the depth of their experience.

The workshop will begin with intention setting and a light movement practice, followed by the breathwork and seated meditation to conclude. Due to the workshop format, please arrive on-time (10-15 min. early!) and no early departures please.

Strong pranayama practices affect individuals differently based on constitution type and other factors, but as this practice draws significant prana through the body, some conditions are not recommended, including: pregnancy, cardiovascular disease, severe hypertension, epilepsy, glaucoma, recent surgeries or major injuries, recent infectious and/or communicable disease, asthma, bipolar disorders, or schizophrenia.

If you have any questions regarding whether this type of breathwork is appropriate for you, please contact Tai at [masked].

Two Dog Yoga has a limited number of yoga mats, so please bring your own if possible. You will need two rocks that fit in the palms of your hands (small to medium-sized river rocks work well), and a journal and eye pillow are recommended. Comfortable clothing (layers, as body temperature can fluctuate) is recommended and please allow sufficient time for your dinner to digest, as breathwork on a full stomach is not ideal.

Additional details will be emailed to registered participants one week prior the event.

Cost is $30. This event is limited to 20 participants, so it is HIGHLY encouraged to pre-register to reserve your spot. An RSVP on this forum will not hold your spot, only pre-payment via the link below.

Cancellations must be made within 24-hours of the event for a refund.
