January meet up: MongoDB and Spring data, MongoDB on AWS

Hi folks,

Happy new year to all - hope all of you had a good break. We have two great talks lined up for our first mongodb meetup of the year. Agilysys, Inc has graciously agreed to host this meetup - thanks Manish for offering to host the meetup.

Talk 1: “MongoDB and Spring Data, how we extended the Spring Framework to access mongo”
by Alessandro Muti, Agilysys Enterprise Architect

Alessandro started his career at Microsoft in 1990 where he was part of the Windows Team. During his career at Microsoft he was a team member in  several groups including leading the development team for the Microsoft Java VM, and is the inventor of Windows Automatic Update and of BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer System). Later on in his career he was the CTO of Ascentium, a global digital media and consulting firm and the co-founder of a social media predictive analytics company that was acquired in 2013

Talk 2: "MongoDB on AWS: tips and ticks"
by Dharshan Rangegowda, Founder MongoDirector.com
AWS is the most popular cloud platform to host MongoDB. It's also a fairly complicated platform with lots of choices and gotcha's. We'll talk about our experience with the various choices available in the platform - instance types, disk types, high availability, disaster recovery, performance, availability & backup.
