Thrill The World! Sat, Oct 26th

Thrill Day Update:

There will be a poster with info under the pergola. Thrill The World creator, Ines Markeljevic, sent new final instructions to all event managers:

1.  All dancers, along with volunteers who are not dancers, are to wear name tags on their chest in front, not hidden.  I will have them at the table beside the forms.  Just after you register, you can sign the name tags then put them on.

2.  Just before we perform, we will get a total count of the dancers by each dancer sounding off their number out loud.

3.  An old rule from previous years - A group shot will be taken just before we peform.  We will huddle up for a snap shot before lying on the ground.

Park Concierge, James Grindle, will say, "BRAINS," for our cue to lie on the ground & he will let us know the 10 second mark, then Ines wants everyone to join in the count down.

We will dance twice.  The 2nd time will be just for fun.  James will call out "BRAINS" a 2nd time, just after Vincent Price stops laughing from our TTW performance.

Also, the Alliance for Pioneer Square (who we get booked through each year) is having a scavenger hunt that will be taking place from today through Fri & the winner will be announced just after our performances.  Their info is below if you would like to participate:

Win an iPad Mini or other neighborhood prizes in a special Pioneer Square neighborhood scavenger hunt this week! Starting now, follow the clues online and in the neighborhood to a special giveaway event on Saturday, October 26th. Hint: Thriller zombies have a unique timing advantage! For contest rules,go here. Find the first clue in the scavenger hunthere

Here are the rules for the scavenger hunt:

The first clue can be found on our Facebook page:

If you participate in the hunt, you will need to register Sat at 1:00 at their table at Occidental Park near where we will dance.  Even though the hunt goes through Fri, you will still need to register Sat after you've completed it.

Original Thrill The World Message:

Hey Everybody!

It's time to Thrill The World once again!  I received a message from the global volunteers letting me know that our event will be showing on the Thrill The World site in a few days.  Our event ID # is 7114.

On Oct 26th, we will begin registration at 11:00 am under the Pergola at 1st & Yesler Way in Pioneer Square Park. A few volunteers have offered to assist in registering the dancers.  If you have not approached me yet and you would like to volunteer, please contact me from this site.  Our lead person for registration, Christina Coleman, will have the necessary forms and will be able to answer questions.  Registration consists of signing a form that goes toward our worldwide count and also serves as a waiver.

At 1:30 we will begin our zombie walk to Occidental Park 1 block away. Following announcements we will join all Thriller groups in the world for the 10 second count down and worldwide simultaneous Thriller dance!  For your peace of mind, the park concierge who will be with us again on Thrill day will be contacting the park rangers to have extra security on board.

I sent our press release to the Times, all local tv stations, and a few radio stations, so you may see large cameras before or during our performance and/or you may hear about us on the air.  Once in a while the guys from the tv stations will take dancers aside for a brief interview.  You will recognize anyone from the media as they are required to wear badges.

If any non dancing family member or friend would like to video our performance for our official video to submit to Thrill The World and also post on youtube, please contact me.  This video will not be fancy with close-ups or going around the dancers.  They are wanting the official video to be in one place to be able to film all dancers at the same time, i.e., not a hard project.

Last but not least, since we are signing waivers that release all parties involved from being sued should there be an injury for whatever reason resulting in paying for our own medical expenses, I am asking for all dancers to please make sure that any loose zombie garments are secured and not able to fall off during the performance in order to avoid tripping other dancers.  Your respect for this request would be greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to our big performance with you guys!

Jody has the video up from the haunted house on Oct. 19. Check out and click on photos. You'll have to watch the Witch Doctor teaser first, then click on the upper left photo for the Thriller dance.

Any need for dancers in near future?

Hi Sheri, Thriller dancers: my Man and I are pleased to join you on October 26. We're doing our review of the dance via Youtube, but we weren't able to join you at practices this year (long story). I'd also like to submit a unique film of the Thriller Dance this year: I'll be wearing Google Glass, which can video record our dance from the perspective of a dancer, so I'll embed myself about one or two people deep from the front in order to get a cool perspective that I believe is going to be very entertaining. I figure, since you are consenting to be filmed by the public, you won't mind it from within the dance stage area. See you all there, and thank you for your hard work at the practices (I've been following the Meetup posts)! - Imei

You all rock! It's going to take me the rest of the week to pick and edit but don't worry, there are a ton of really good photos! Way more than I expected. I have midterms this week so it will take me a little longer to post. Great day!

It was originally going to be just me and my daughter, but my 4 yr. old son was okay at practice (the zombies didn't scare him too much) so he's joining in too! Thank you Sheri and the organizers for all the classes and coordinating!

I don't do video but I'm looking for someone who can. This doesn't mean for everyone to stop looking though! It's more likely we'll find one if everyone asks around!
