STF Spring Sunset Sail

Sunset is a favorite time for a sail in the Pacific Northwest. The sunset over the Olympic mountains are breathtaking. The golden glow reflecting off the sails as the sun descends near the horizon is an unforgettable sight.

This is one of my favorite past times in the north west. I want to share this with the club. A day on the water is always an enjoyable time.

I have collaborated to put together a spring sunset sail. We will have the use of a custom sailboat with a classic feel. We will be leaving out of Harbor Island Marina on Thursdays at 6:30pm to enjoy an evening of sunset cruising, foods and great company.

We will sail and enjoy the sun and water. Then our backdrop will be the Seattle Skyline.

***We provide you with the captain, crew and food !!***

Feel free to bring (beer/wine , drink responsibly) to share.

Payment of $50 will be via Paypal to secure your spot.

**I have placed a deposit for the sailing vessel.

The plan is to meet in front of the marina office (water side) at the Marina (Harbor Island Dock C) at 6:30.

Harbor Island Marina is located in the Duwamish River almost under the West Seattle bridge.

1001 SW Klickitat Way

Dock “C”
Directions..

You may exit to Harbor Island from the viaduct or Spokane Street. The exit leads to a three lane road, stay in the middle lane. (don’t pass over the Spokane St. Bridge). The middle lane will take you to the north side of the Spokane St. Bridge and will quickly form a “Y”, you should stay to the left and you will come to a light. SW Klickitat is a two way divided street. Take a left on to Klicktat Way and then take the next right into the entrance of the Harbor Island Business Park. You will cross over some railroad tracks. Proceed to southern end of the business park. Look for Dock “C”. You may park anywhere in area of the gates.

This method will hopefully assure good communication and commitment.

Also bring layers of clothing for any condition. Don't forget your cameras and binoculars! Seals, porpoises, and even whales have been known to drop by and say "Hi" right off Elliot Bay! (Click Below)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wszLKTbV13o

The boat will generally try to stay in Elliot Bay during the sail which should be a great opportunity to get photos of the city from the boat.

This event will yield some great pictures if the weather cooperates.

Park in any unmarked spot at the street side of the parking lot or along the street. Be sure not to park in "permit only" spots.

Enjoy the evening watching the sunset on the water!

***RSVP ETIQUETTE: Since we have limited space I ask that you (and your guest) be considerate of others and commit to your RSVP.

****In the past there have been issues with last minute cancellations . Your last minute cancellation deprives another of an opportunity to sail so we are not very forgiving with regard to no-shows. If you sign-up and cancel the day of the event, you will be excluded from my future events.**

What an amazing evening. It wasn't raining, it wasn't to chilly, the sail boat was a blast to be on, the food was delicious and the company was extraordinary. I had a wonderful time and I enjoyed meeting all of you.

The adventurous foodies went sailing on the high seas for 4 hours. We sailed and enjoyed the wind and sun in our hair. Dined on some fabulous Japanese Cuisine with the Seattle skyline as our back drop for the entire night. Engine trouble almost had us crashing into the rocks, but alas was rescued by our studious captain. A wonderful evening had by all. Join us on our next foodie adventure !!
