Cafe Turko is a new cafe in Seattle, serving delicious Turkish and Middle Eastern dishes, run by a husband-and-wife team. Sureyya (wife)is truly one of the best chef ever. Formerly, Istanbul Imports, you can still buy a bottle of pomegranate molasses, tin-lined copper ware, a colorful scarf, or a richly dyed tribal rug here. Co-owner Sureyya Gokeri, who is also a local cooking instructor and caterer, has selected a special menu for us this evening.
This is an opportunity to experience home-style Turkish cooking, uncommon in Seattle, beyond the often-seen formula of hummus-baba ganouj-baklava. (This menu has meat and dairy, to take advantage of some of the principal ingredients in the Middle East. No alcohol, in keeping with Muslim custom.
The No Show rule applies and RSVP closes 48 hours prior to the event. WAITLISTERS, you are included in the NO SHOW policy (unless you are given less than 24 hours’ notice). They will take cash or credit card – our server will have separate checks for our members.
