Latin American/Modern European @ Pimienta Bistro & Bar [Federal Way]

Our group is so busy we already have to schedule for March events. Yes - we're awesome that way!

Join me to welcome Spring and support yet another local restaurant run by a talented rookie Chef Blanca Rodriguez. But in Federal Way, you say? YES! I have been here once before and the food was terrific (not to mention their wine pairing!).

Seattle Weekly:

"But for most food obsessives, that truism only holds if the restaurant specializes in the cuisine of a country with a Peace Corpspresence. A strip-mall location may herald fantastically tender tamales or crisp dosas, yet it's rarely interpreted as a trusty oracle of finely tuned French sauces and pastas gilded with artichoke hearts and sheep's-milk cheese. For that kind of cooking, most eaters head to in-town restaurants that don't share parking lots with cash-advance stores."

Updated 03/07/13:
Here's the menu from Chef Blanca. This will be $35 (EXCLUDES your beverage(s), tax and tip and any additional food items you will be ordering) per/person. We will have separate checks, but I encourage you to bring cash to make it easier for the restaurant.

MENU:

SOPA:
Cream of artichoke parmesan
or
Pimienta Salad, Organic greens, seasonal pears, bleu cheese, champagne vinaigrette
APPETIZER ( only for those that don't want the dessert):
Calamari
or
House Made Hummus w/ Flat Bread

CHOOSE ONE:
PASTA DE LA CASA ( vegetarian or with Salmon)Tarragon cream sauce, asparagus, kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, pesto relish, pecorino romano
or
GRILLED PORK CHOPthree-cheese macaroni and cheese, seasonal vegetables
or
POLLO ROSTIZADO chicken breast, parmesan polenta, seasonal vegetables, sherry wine sauce.
Dessert:
CREME BRULEE

RSVP Etiquette - Since this is a prix fix menu, it is important that you honor your RSVP. If you must cancel, do so prior to 48 hours in advance. So those on the wait list have ample time to be notified of their status. I will keep track of no shows and boot anyone off w/ two after this event.

I will cap at 10 for now, but depending on the level of interest and commitment, I will bump it up.

There are quite a few of you who were bumped up from the waitlist so please update your RSVP by no later than Thursday afternoon if you're unable to make this event. Chef Blanca will need an accurate head-count to get ready for us and I plan to do this Friday.

    Hello Foodies,

For those of you who are not too keen on dessert, Chef Blanca will give you an option to choose an Appetizer instead (sorry - you can't have both!). If you don't want the Creme Brulee, you can choose either the Calamari or House Made Hummus w/ Flat Bread. I have posted the menu above. Cheers!

Shutsen, I removed you from this list because you were already attending the Japanese Movie and Dinner event at 5:45. You were double RSVP'd. Hope this helps ;)
