Welcome to the Seattle World Music Meetup.
This Meetup supports World Music Artists, both local and international and provides information about local World Music events to our group.
Generally the term World Music conjures up the sounds of traditional or folk ethnic music not originated from the United States.
However we would like to keep the definition broad to include music ranging from our own contemporary or traditional Native American music to techno or hiphop beats against any ethnic sound...
We encourage meetup attendees to communicate with each other for pre or post meetup functions as it's not always possible for the World Music Organizers to attend.
We would like to get together once a month to share news about events, exchange world music CD's, and discuss World Music Meetup opportunities for our group.
Hopefully the event postings will in some way indicate the style of music within its world music genre so that you may choose the music that suits your tastes.
Don't be shy to experiment a little, you may find that it may expand your musical palate :-)

From Seville, Spain, flamenco singer Rafael de Utrera and percussionist Juanma Lucas join Eric and Encarnación from Seattle’s Children of the Revolution for an evening of flamenco puro.
