Free Concert at the Coast Guard Academy

This is just an FYI about a free concert. The next concert at the USCG Academy in New London is on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 2 PM and ending at 3:30. These concerts are FREE. They are a symphony orchestra minus the violins. But there is a full size harp and a grand piano, and kettle drums, and 52 musicians, and a fabulous soprano.
I like to sit in the balcony, so that is where I will be, on the right at the top of the stairs. (There is a handicapped entrance, if needed.)
Get there early to park. It is a popular event, and if you want easy parking and good seating, get there at least 20 minutes early. Also, you will need to show your driver's license at the gate.

I and my red scarf were in the back right side of the balcony beside the stairs. I did get there 45 minutes early for excellent parking and a good choice of seats. The only person I saw was Vincent, who saw me. I am glad everyone came to the concert. I thought it was excellent. There will be another one on Sunday, Feb.9th, at 2. I will have to be there for that and hear MY FUNNY VALENTINE.

I think I was in the balcony but could not find a red scarf. I did send out my phone number to watch the game. Pretty poor for the Patriots!!!

Great concert. Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue was masterfully performed. Sorry to see the group did not find their way to each other. We found very nice center orchestra seats.

Anyone interested in watching the First playoff Football game after the concert? Do you know any good sports bars nearby?

The bowling alley in Groton is a pretty good spot for watching football ... One enormous screen. And 5,or 6. Other screens
