Introduction

I'm keen to meet both new and experienced gamers and show them how to play our games. Let's have lotsa fun.

Do you have a favourite game?

My favourite gateway game (a quick game to get people and non-gamers interested in gaming) has got to be Fluxx. As you play the game, everyone helps to make the rules and goals that everyone triues to achieve, until they change them, just before you were about to win. I'm also a big fan of the Dominion card game, but don't own a copy yet. Every time I sit down to play that game, I keep wanting more.

What games do you want to play?

I'd love to start running a few bigger games of Ultimate Werewolf, with 15-20 people at a time and would like to 'try' to run a 64 player game(the max number it'll allow you to play), although I reckon I'll need a few extra moderators to help out on that one. I'd also like to learn some more card games, other than poker, using the traditional hearts/diamonds/clubs/spades decks.

What Chris Burnham is saying about this Meetup Group

I'm a bit biased, because I run the group, which is excellent by the way :)

  • Hey, I know some very interesting games using the traditional hearts/diamonds/clubs/spades decks. Mostly two games which are very popular in my society and they need alottttt of training and calculating in your head to master skills. They will look not very hard when you are learning the rules but when you play a lot with good players you will need to think a lot.
Each game requires a minimum of 4 players. I would gladly teach you guys those games sometime.

  • Thank you for the warm greeting Chris - much appreciated. Sadly it was only after I joined that I see you have quite early meets, and as my shop in Nuneaton doesn't close until 6pm I'm not like to make any Wednesdays, so I will sit and lurk to see if any meet come up on a Sunday or Monday I can go to. • Hi Chris, thanks for the message! It did make me laugh as I didn't read the description of games properly when I joined, and there was me posting cranium, whereas the group sounds like more serious gamers. I've just started playing MTG on the xbox with my friend, and he raves about Dominion?. anyway, I will try and get along to a meetup soon! Elizabeth :)

  • Hiya! How's all the gaming going in Leicester? Missing those UK games! But the Oz games are all starting to take off!

  • Hi Kaltak
Thanks for the welcome. I'll leave my broomstick at home, never could get the hang of the dratted thing - but I might have a few boiled sweets in my pocket for bribing small children with (A handy trick I learnt from Nanny Ogg!) Looking forward to Friday.
