Combating Poverty in the Chicago Area

Ken Novak and Sue Sherman present an Ethical Humanities program, “Combating Poverty in the Chicago Area,” on August 18th at 10:30 a.m. at the Ethical Humanist Society of Chicago, 7574 N. Lincoln Avenue in Skokie. Highlighting the Ethical Poverty Project of our Ethical Action and Adult Education committees, a panel will report on their efforts to identify programs that are already successfully helping the almost one-third of our neighbors who are living in or near poverty.

Please join us for coffee hour after the talk. All are welcome to our Sunday programs, which are free and open to the public. For more information, please visithttp://www.ethicalhuman.org/.

I look forward to hearing about this. Also exploring how secular humanists can be more 'out' in challenging unjust social and economic systems that create or perpetuate poverty.
