I made a search to check what type of atheist groups are active in Miami or nearby so i found your site. I grew up in a very liberal household, in Spain, my father being atheist and "red" at a time when Franco was dictating with strong hand. I attended catholic schools until age 13 and then i was tranfered to public ones. At 15 i discovered my Jewish roots from my mother's side but already was i asking myself many questions about religion/religions that didn't find answers. The book that changed all was "Orfeo, A General History of Religions", bu Salomon Reinach, and if you haven't read it yet you should. It's still so valid!. I emigrated to Israel where I lived five years. I have the advange of having been raised as a catholic, discovering judaism and learning about it and researching the other religions.
I was not able to read it. For some reason that I don't understand the lay out of the web page is in English but when i try to get into the info is in Spanish and i couldn't display the definition of a Secular Humanist. If you can send it to me on a separete link i will be more than glad to read and confirm.
Presently in Spain. I lived in Miami from 2004 through 2011 but I am going back by the end of 2013.
I am a female adult, 57 year-old, twice divorced, atheist and independent. No political attachments though liberal, in the European sense of the word. Compulsive reader of science and biology. I love jogging and horseback riding. I love nature.
