Great meetup. The talk was wonderful and exciting... maybe talked too much... but enjoyed it a great deal. Thank you for including me.

I will never live in Australia. I prefer my snakes nonvenomous.

We had a discussion about those large Australian spiders at book club. The huntsman is one of the largest. It can stand across the toilet like that picture Amy showed you--reaching about 30 cm (or 1 foot wide). These spiders also love to hide in cars and houses, which makes it bad for people who are afraid of giant spiders. The good thing is that although these spiders are enormous, they are harmless to people. Most the deaths occur from people wrecking when one crawls on them while driving. because the spiders themselves can't hurt you.

By the way, the guy is playing with a small one in the video. Large ones may bite but it won't kill you. Venom toxicity: The bite of Huntsman spiders is of low risk (mildly toxic) to humans. Huntsman spiders are a non-aggressive group of spiders.
Painful bite: a large Huntsman spider has extended fangs and can deliver a deep painful bite. Howver they are extremely timid and will run away given the chance

I'll be driving back from McMinnville but I'm going to try to time it so I'm not late.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
