Hey Gang,

Long time, no speak! Hope your summer was great! Time for another inspiring meetup of change agents, social entrepreneurs, seed catalysts, and supporters of social change. On Wednesday, September 29, please join us for an inspiring evening networking and collaboration among friends. We will start off the evening at 7pm sharp with a presentation from Uma Viswanathan, who will present a sampling from her Art of Living for Social Entrepreneurs workshop. Uma is also the Program Director of Nouvelle Vie (www.nouvelleviehaiti.org), which trains and empowers young Haitians to identify and develop sustainable solutions to support their communities. After this presentation, there will be ample time for a Q&A session and networking. If your interested in the Art of Living workshop, there will be an opportunity to register at the event. Below is is a description. And if your unable to attend the meetup and/or interested in registering for the workshop online, here is the link: http://secure.artofliving.org/courses.aspx?state=NY&city=NEW%20YORK&type=1

Please meet us at Vig Bar on the corner of Spring and Elizabeth at 6:30.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

The Art of Living for Social Entrepreneurs

In an increasingly complex global society, what tools do social entrepreneurs need to transform the world around them? At the heart of any successful social entrepreneurs are mental, emotional and interpersonal skills that allow them to communicate effectively and to thrive in uncertain, risky, and challenging situations. Art of Living's program for Social Entrepreneurs develops the personal characteristics inherent to any successful social entrepreneur:

- Sustained sense of responsibility to improve the world and its inhabitants rather than pursue self-focused aims

- Commitment and determination

- Creativity and adaptability

- Comfort with uncertainty and risk
- Personal accountability for every action

- Naturalness and effective communication skills

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
