LDNSE #7: Selenium Clinic

  • November 27, 2012 · 6:00 PM

Greetings Selenium lovers, this Selenium meetup is going to be different; it's going to be interactive!

We're asking you to bring your laptops and your Selenium problems pre-prepared and open them up to attendees and mentors to solve. We want attendees to talk and discuss real-world Selenium and WebDriver problems and solutions.

Mozilla will be providing desks, spare monitors, free WiFi and presentation equipment to help you collaborate and Huddle will be providing food to keep you thinking during the evening.

As a grand finale to the evening we'll ask you to share and present the solutions with the attendees at the end of the evening for the good of the Selenium community. Hopefully we'll all walk out wiser!

18:00 - Welcoming attendees

19:00 - Presenting problem scenarios: Introduce yourself and your problem with a short talk or demonstration

19:30 - Split into teams and work on the problems: Food and drinks will be available to keep the energy levels up

21:00 - Presenting results: Present the solutions your team has come up with to share the solutions

Really enjoyed last night. The atmosphere was excellent.

Thanks Mozilla for the space and the beers. Thanks Huddle for sponsoring the food. I still feel stuffed!

@Zac C - Is it possible to link to the github area where the challenges are stored? I would love to have a play with them in my own time. See you at the next one.

Hi guys I am wondering if you're able to help. I'm looking for a Selenium C# Web test consultant to work for a client of mine in Leeds. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi All,

As promised, we've added our demo presentation from the LDNSE #7 event onto GitHub. This demo uses an element library concept to verify different elements on different domains using the same Cucumber feature.

Please see the following URL at: https://github.com/BrandwatchLtd/LDNSE7-demo

Let us know if you have any trouble getting this up and running. We would be very happy to answer any questions or receive any feedback. You can email us at: [masked] and [masked].

    Great Event!!!

Thanks to Dave and Zac and also to Huddle for providing the food. Can't wait for the next event! Very interesting to see the various problems and the possible solutions. We were thinking of possibly doing a meetup event in Brighton (BTNSE!!) if anyone would be interested!?!?

We're also thinking of creating an open source project (checking with employer) for our element library idea, if anyone is interested please let me know and I'll make sure to email you when its ready.

Couldn't wait till tomorrow morning to thank Mozilla(Dave/Zac) for the great event. A big cuddle to huddle for the food.

I am all pumped up with new ideas from the event.

Cucumber with selenium webdriver seems to be the winner for me.

Do we need to book a slot for presenting our problem scenarios or is it sufficient just to come prepared with a laptop?

    November 23, 2012

    • Dave H.

Hey Tero, I sent you an email about presenting your scenario. I'm glad you're up for it, just bring yourself and anything you need to help you demonstration or articulate your scenario. :)
