Hi everybody,

Turns out member Bethany Kelly is a book production expert and she has offered to share her knowledge on the topic with the group on April 1st, no foolin'! Here's what she'll be talking about.

I’m done writing my book. Now what?

• From manuscript to holding the book in your hand--the self-publisher’s sequence of book production steps.

• What is workflow and how to use it to keep you sane during the production phase.

• Which steps of production you must remain involved in as the author and which steps you’d do better to get outside help with.

• Tips for operating on a shoe-string budget.

• Avoiding project overwhelm.

Bethany Kelly spent over a decade as creative director and project manager of a non-profit organization, responsible for managing the products division. She managed an international team of creative professionals, directing the development and production of over 300 pages of content each month. Initially focused on print delivery, primarily books, booklets and physical products, she ultimately shifted production to online daigital delivery.

Today, she mixes her professional experience and ability with her creativity as she supports speakers, experts and authors in creating amazing books and products that stand out in the marketplace and generate profit.

Thank you Bethany for presenting an outline of the book production process. Now we have an idea of the basics, and know there's lots of details to fill in depending on our particular book. I've uploaded the notes into the MORE > FILES area for everyone to access. Thanks for inspiring us to start the process!

Thank you Carla for inviting Bethany to talk to us on self-pub. Now, if only I can know how to successfully market my self-pub. book, my writing life will be happier.

I'd already heard much of the same information at previous Self-publishing meetups. Bethany's answers seemed a little vague and generalized.

    My EPUB Experience Announcement
I am now an expert on making EPUBs using InDesign to EPUB.

So far, I succeeded in uploading and publishing 10 of my own e-books. All of my books successfully passed International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF) and passed Ingram/Spark's approval.

My books were very complex and had lots of images, etc. I am now ready to help other authors with their EPUBs.

I am reaching a transition point from creating content to designing the cover and figuring out how to sell my book. I am excited to be connecting with this group!

Hi Keith, and we're excited to have you in the group, and this next meeting with Bethany Kelly on book production seems like just the right timing.
