I currently work with OWL/RDF for enabling information discovery. However, I think it is capable of much more, and I am very interested in developing semantic applications with real world utility.

What are your thoughts about the Semantic Web? Is it the next Big Thing?

Yes, but they will probably call it something else. I could go on all day about that.

Which new technologies would you like to learn? Have you worked with any "semantic" technologies such as XML, RDF, OWL, GRDDL, or SPARQL?

I want to master the Jena API. I work with RDF/OWL all the time, and I am still teaching myself the ins and outs of SPARQL queries.

Which applications or web sites will make the Semantic Web a reality in the public eye?

Because it is free and written in Java, I see the Jena API as having tremendous potential in enabling applications. It is my opinion that the applications must come first, so that companies and people see the added value in semantics.
