SENSE's Old-Timey (Un)Company Picnic Potluck Extravaganza

We'll be at the Woodland Park (next to the Zoo, not IN the Zoo) in Shelter #1

Want to know what you can bring?

Fruit platters, veggie platters, chips & dip, desserts, and drinks to share!

SENSE will be bringing grill-able items (hot dogs and hamburgers) and buns, condiments, watermelon, and S'mores essentials. We'll also have select drinks and nibbles available.

Ok...on to the details:

Do you know what companies do during the summer to celebrate their business and thank their employees?

They have Company Picnics! (Food! Fun! Frolic! Yea!)

So, what do you do when you're self-employed and you may not have a huge company to join in potato sack or 3-legged races?

Why…you meet up with SENSE for our

First Ever Old-Timey (Un)Company Picnic Potluck Extravaganza!

Friday, August 23rd from 3pm-8pm(ish)
at Woodland Park, Shelter #1
(right off of N. 50th Street...plenty of parking!)

Just look for the "We’re Here" signs.

This is a family-friendly, kid-friendly event for you to relax and chat with other indie-business owners in the SENSE group and beyond.

Games for Adults and Children alike!

Bean-bag toss, Coffee-sack races, Who am I?, Balloon Toss, Pin the Tie on the Indie…and more! When was the last time you were in a 3-legged race? Don't you think it's about time to show off those hula-hooping skillz?

You're also welcome to bring guitars, ukeleles, kazoos, and whatever else suits your fancy for musical entertainment.

Food and Drink!
We will have two grills going, and many others are available in our area. SENSE will provide an initial donation of grill-able items, condiments and such, but we'll need your help in creating a (fairly) well-rounded meal for the group. Contact Bethany for ideas, or to help coordinate food stuffs.  Speaking of which...

We can't pull off an old-timey (un)company picnic without your help. We need volunteers for meal coordination, running games, set-up, tear-down, grill masters, as well as funds to help defray the costs. All volunteers will get shout-outs in our September newsletter, as well as have a distinguished "participating member" title in their profile.

Sponsor the Picnic: Help keep our costs down!
Of course our (un)company picnic potluck is free! But how much food SENSE can buy is directly tied to how much is in our bank account. If you'd like to donate to the cause, just click on the button below.

$10 donations receive "Sponsoring Member" profile titles for August and September, as well as our immense gratitude.

$25 donations receive "Sponsoring Member" profile titles for the rest of 2013 as well as our immense gratitude.

$50+ donations receive "Sponsoring Member" profile titles for the rest of 2013, our immense gratitude as well as a front-page sponsor link for August and September on the left hand column of the site.

$75+ donations receive all the of the above plus a free ad in the SENSE monthly newsletter, The Queen of the Random Job's newsletter, and shout-outs on QRJ's social media pages. (Twitter -17,000+followers, and Facebook - 3,600+fans.)

$100+donations receive all the the above well as a free ad on Queen of the Random Job website for August and September, as well as an editorial article, or guest post on QRJ. (Pending content approval, of course.)

All funds collected will go to the picnic and future SENSE events.

Get your pale body into the sunshine, bring some friends and family, (or even people you may not like that much,) even dogs are allowed on leash (and there's an off-leash area not too far away) and celebrate being an indie business owner with SENSE!

I thought I saw you and your daughter (in her darling pink tu-tu!) as we were pulling out! It was getting dark and we had to clean up and be out by 8. Sorry we missed you :(

Hi guys! I had fully intended to come and even help out, but some rough health issues are going to have to keep me in bed. Have an extra burger/Coke/beer cookie for me, and have FUN!

In a comedy of errors, this fabulous co-host broke her toe and is not sure she will be making it to be fabulous in the fabulousness of fun and frolic. Pout. Healing a broken bone - even a tiny toe - seems to require a lot of energy so I don't have the giddyup in my get up that I usually do. Phew!

On a side note..I don't recommend dropping a solid wood sculpture on your foot. ;) The pain is otherworldly in a way that is not so much in the fun department. Eeek!

Rags! What?! Waaah... Well, hit me up for coffee before you leave. I will hobble my way to you on crutches :) I am eastside 5 days now but still live on west side.

Bethany - Missed you too. I felt so bummed to not be able to do the games. Maybe a Xmas rendition is in the works? :) Pin the tail on the reindeer? LOL. Or the nose on Rudolph? heh heh

If you get a chance to swing by after your other "company" picnic, we'd love to see you Thekla! We'll be there to 8 or so.

I'd love to come, but I already have another "save the date, time TBA" event on my calendar. Hopefully my other event will be an AM event so I can come to this - sounds like fun!
