Let's DO a new IoT/electronics project for this year

  • Jun 19, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • Glimworm HQ

In the meantime, we had quite some technical oriented meetups, so for this meetup just before the holidays, a more social gathering consisting of some talks and showcasing stuff might be interesting (before we pickup again on the OpenThermostat again).

Proposed is the following program:

- Presentations:

Johan Henselmans: YoCaMyCa remote car lock

Tweetonig: Thermostat design, Moistly !?

- Showcase: Bring your (IoT, electronics or software) projects and show them to the others (informal format)

- Drink beer (or soda) and talk

If you have something interesting to show or present: Send me a line and I will add you to the list.

Hi. I'm new to MCU, but would like to learn and play around with one. Maybe embed in my purse and connected to my phone, etc. Not sure which device to start with. Should I wait til end of this year for Udoo $130 (with wifi), $35 Rasp Pi, or Arduino?
What do you have? What would you buy?

Here's a summary of most popular MCU:

I'll have to miss this one, on wednesday is my last Dutch lecture before the exam. Will drop by at 7 to return the LCD display though

Hey Hans, it seems I won't make it at 7 to return the LCD, sorry about that I hope you will be able to go on working without it

I'll be in vacations by then but I would love to keep track of how things are progressing.
Is there any place where this is being documented? I have a couple of links in the README of the code I started to write at:

Good to bring that up in the holiday season :)
we are testing if Wevolver can be the place to track content and progress. I'll see if I can add a little note about the progress of each meetup.

We from Tweetonig will bring some design sketches with us (shape, buttons etc). Really looking forward to discuss them with the group.
