Hi all -

The next meetup will be on November 4th and we have a great speaker coming! Dave Evans is a hard man to pin down thanks to his busy work and travel schedule, but he agreed to come speak months ago and we are thrilled he was able to make it back to Austin in time for the November meetup! Dave is an expert on social media and its effective usage. In fact, he wrote the book on it! Check out Dave's book, Social Media Marketing: An Hour a Day, here: http://www.amazon.com... . You can read more (LOTS more!) about Dave and his expertise below.

As usual, we will have a special dinner menu available for those who come hungry. Doors open around 5:30 and we will start once the majority of attendees have arrived. Networking before and after Dave's talk! See you all there!

All I can say is WOW! Dave really brought me up to speed on how important social media is and how it all works. I met some really interesting and talented people there as well. I would like to thank the organizers of this meetup, as a first timer I was really impressed!

       Very engaged crowd.
    •  IT WAS AWESOME! =) Lots of value and relevant.
    •  Dave was excellent. The topic was excellent. And the organization was excellent.

The material was great and the people were welcoming and friendly. The networking opportunities alone make this group worth attending, but event after event they continue to bring great speakers with solid information to share as well. I enjoyed myself.
    •  I love Dave... he is personable, interested in the audience, and helpful. He puts social media marketing into terms, stories, and examples that lay people like me understands. Dave has a great way of simplifying complex strategies. I really want a copy of the slide presentation. Dave also referred to books and sites that I did not write down that I want to know about - 2 books he recommended reading and the website called something like bizz twitter bizz or buzz that tracks what is being said about your co. Thank you. Carol Marak [masked]
    •  Good meeting. Dave Evan gave a great overview of examples of how organization are using it.
    •  Dave is a real pioneer of Social Media and not only talks the talk but walks the walk. His book - Social Media Marketing in 1 Hour A Day is my go to bible for all things Social Media and it was incredible to hear him speak live. Awesome presentation - the theories he spoke about were inspirational for me and my business.
    •  Great presentation - I was stuck in traffic and unfortunately missed the initial 20 minutes.
    •  Dave's a great speaker. I know a bit about social media marketing, but I learned quite a bit.
    •  Dave did an excellent presentation on SM. I have read his book "Social Media: An Hour A Day". He kept his presentation unique, not plugging his book but, referencing other authors he respects in all facets of SM and Marketing. Dave fielded questions generously, satisfying the audience.
    •  Good practical advice on a variety of social media topics.
    •  Good examples from other large Social Media campaigns, but not enough steps for smaller shops to take. Is it possible for these types of speakers to take questions from the group ahead of time? The Q&A at the end is OK, but it might be better if it were fueled by pre-seeded questions from the members of the group.
