Hello Dan,

Thank you for that clarification. Since the name is tied to your business, let me offer my total support to helping you bring an orderly closure to something that has worked so well for quite some time.

While I am still leaving the door open to anyone else wanting to step forward and take the helm (under a new name itappears) I would be consolidating it under theMeetUp name BBUGs (BungeeBones User Group) and would not continue the MeetUp solely around SEO but around SEO, Pay Per Click, Link Exchange and other web promotion strategies. So if this transition continues under my direction then I can affirm that we will migrate away from the use of your company name but certainly would like to maintain mention that you were the founder.

Also, since I hope to keep a regular rotation of topics and speakers and since it seems time restraints are a major factor in your stepping down then perhaps you could still continue to maintain the SEO part of this group but on a much less frequent basis (because of the other topics in between)? Also, I have set up the BungeeBones User Group Meetup (BBUGS) so that others can use it in different locations (BBUGS Seattle, BBUGS Denver etc). If so, then each could have need and could be an inroad for your online distance SEO training. Just food for thought at this point ... still don't even know if or how many are willing to join with me to keep the group going.

Hello SEO Lunch members. I chose not to renew my annual membership to run this meetup. Therefore the meetup system removed me as organizer and awarded the group to someone else who was willing to pay and run this group.

I am afraid I do not have the time to run this group. I have been thinking about launching an SEO course online to teach others SEO's on how to provide this service to others. I am still on the fence on this, so I am not sure. Regardless I will let you all know if I start this project.

As far as this meetup goes, the SEO Lunch name is under my trademark for this type of event. So I would appreciate it if the new organizers do not infringe on my rights and remove all information, links, and URL.

thanks,

Hello all,

A really bizarre thing just happened regarding this meetup. I got the email about Dan Kinchen stepping down as host and it had a link saying something like "Get more info" or something about as non-committal sounding. When I ... Read more clicked it I was greeted with"Congratulations - you're the new Organizer of Search Engine Optimization Orlando!"

It was real nice of them but it all somehow feels like a mistake, or did I miss something? I click a link and suddenly I'm organizing the meetup?

Perhaps it had something to do with me launching my own meetup along a similar, but broader topic.

So me stepping into this is a little more complicated than someone just stepping up to organize this because there is a bit more to mine. Everyone should really check it out before I step into this role. As I said, I'm really surprised that one click can have such a drastic affect.

Probably the best introduction of my goals for my meetup would be to visit the website www.bbugs.org for all the details and we can go from there.

If someone else wants to step in and continue this group I would be fine to step down and let them take the helm. If so, my only hope is that it is as easy to unwind this event as it was to start it.
