Printmaking Monotype Workshop

Sunday July 3rd (3-7pm)

Monotype Printmaking Workshop

I'll be hosting a monotype workshop at my studio on July 3rd for anyone interested in making some unique images. This will also work as a nice introduction for anyone interested in joining my ongoing printmaking classes there.

No experience is needed. Just a little imagination or a sense of experimentation!

Monotype is a truly "painterly" form of printmaking and has been quite popular with painters since its first invention.

Differing from other printmaking processes, monotype prints are one-of-a-kind. They are generally made in a short amount of time (from 5 minutes to an hour) and allow a variety of mark making possibilities.

All materials and paper will be provided. Each participant will have time to make several prints during the workshop. Prints will need to be picked up at a later date however as drying time is needed for some of the ink we'll be using.

Workshop Fee: 40,000won

Space is limited so RSVP only if serious please.

The studio is at Cheongyangni station. Actually next to (Dukjungyo
Sagori if you travel by bus or Seoul Sungshim Hospital)
From the station (dark blue line 1) take exit #4. You'll come out
in front of a big Lotte Department store. Walk straight past the department store for 7-10 minutes.
You'll see a hospital and then "Flower Hotel" across the street.
The studio is in the building with a giant white billboard with blue letters on the top. There is a norebang on the 1st floor. I'm on the 4th floor.

Here is a roadview image of the studio

Even with the rain coming down hard, 8 people were able to join me for a day of printmaking.
Everyone was able to produce a bunch of interesting images and said they had fun.
