Update on Location: I am still waiting for an answer from the "amazing place", I should know tonight.
My only concern with the Indigo is . . . that it is NOT in Boston/Cambridge.
Indeed this is the Boston meetup.
Jennifer took it upon herself to start a new chapter in Newton (see: http://www.meetup.com/Linch...), we can always have TWO manageable and location-friendly meetups!
Jennifer needs help, can someone step up to the place and help her out?

Was just there last night for a networking soiree. IDEAL for this type of function! They have a pool (with cabanas to relax and chat in) as well as the lounge/ bar area opens onto the pool making it a NICE summer spot. Loads of space for mingling, good service, free parking and the T right next door!

So do we have a location. Let's ship this. Hotel Indigo has received the most praise so far.

Good Morning Linchpins: Cross your fingers that we might, just might get one of the BEST venue in town for entrepreneurs. I can't disclose the venue yet (and i don't want to jinx it), but I have hope, and the help of one of the Linchpins in this group.
We should know by the end of next week, in the meanwhile stay tuned, spread the word to other linchpins, enjoy the upcoming loooooooong weekend, and . . . SHIP!

How about a few options in Boston? If you want to do something at a hotel, we could look at the Liberty Hotel in Beacon Hill, or the Langham downtown? There are a few places that could be good in the south end, but there aren't any T stops.

FYI . . . There's a new group on Linkedin - Linchpin USA - PLEASE no lizard brains LOL. Hope to see you all on Linkedin!!

Bill: it's a bit too early to select ONE venue, I have my plug into a couple of VERY cool places and I am waiting for a response.
It also depends on how many people we have, reaching 100 or more is not out of the question.

Linchpins per se have no geography restriction, there's a Linchpin Facebook group http://is.gd/coVMU we can start the discussion there (FB is very conducive to that), but someone needs to take the idea and run with it. Anyone wants to "ship" this one? (I don't have the bandwidth). Margie???

I like the Linchpin magazine/compilation idea. I'd be happy to work on this, with who ever else might be interested. I'm a designer (mostly web) and if not this idea, then maybe a follow-up blog site with connecting information, or whatever people are interested in. It might be a nice way for people to continue the conversations that we've started and spread to more.

Here's another vote for Indigo Hotel.

I know this pool area and it is surprisingly nice, never too crowded. Not as noisy as a crowded enclosed space, and big enough to handle all comers...

I'm with Margie!!! Indigo Hotel rooftop for sure! Right off the T and tons of parking. Oh and a pool, don't forget about the pool. I see drinks with umbrellas in our future.
