Posted by Alan Froggatt June 14, 2010 at 5:00 PMGood Morning Boston Linchpins: a few more hours and our long awaited event will "ship".
Posted by Lorenzo June 14, 2010 at 8:47 AMBring your energy, your business cards, and your open linchpin mind. If you've ever daydreamed: "I wish I could find another linchpin to . . . . . " tonight's the night, and remember, generosity is one of the quality of a sound linchpin: your takeaway is directly related to your contribution.
See you tonight! Lor3nzo
So glad we were able to host it, Lorenzo - only wish I could be there myself! Have a blast, I'm sure it will be fabulous! :)
Posted by Abby Fichtner June 13, 2010 at 7:24 PMHey Boston-area linchpins. UPDATE: Full-day tickets to "experience" Seth Godin live are now sold out. As are "student" and "educator" tickets. But . . . there are some "half-day" tickets remaining, which do allow for interaction with Seth and time for questions and answers. Visit www.bostonlinchpins.com for any/all info. And a bunch of us look forward to meeting you on Monday evening!
Posted by Stephen Warshaw June 12, 2010 at 6:34 AMCongratulations Linchpins! The sheer QUALITY and quantity of the local Linchpins made it possible for the generous Microsoft to open to us their N.E.R.D. space at One Memorial Drive in Cambridge MA.
Posted by Lorenzo June 8, 2010 at 2:13 PMA very special THANK YOU to Abby and Leah who made this possible.
Stay tuned: more info to come.
and now for the AWESOME GOOD NEWS: I just received some copies of the Linchpin book signed by Mr Seth Godin himself.
Posted by Lorenzo June 7, 2010 at 3:11 PMThey will be raffled at the 6/14 event.
Yet another reason to be there!
Bill: point well taken. I've followed up on Saturday with the "awesome place in Cambridge", we're still waiting for the answer.
Posted by Lorenzo June 7, 2010 at 3:10 PMJust in case I do have a couple of back-up places in Boston/Cambridge. Alas, I am still open for suggestions as long as they are in the Boston/Cambrige area.
For the Newton Linchpin, Jennifer still needs help: http://is.gd/cGew2
Might there be a live-line for the location?
Posted by Bill McDavitt June 7, 2010 at 8:38 AMhttp://sethgodin.typepad.co...
For those Linchpins who are heavy in startup, Chris Requena and I will be attending http://boston.startupweeken...
over the weekend, there's still time to sign up and have a boatload of shipping fun.
Best! Lor3nzo
Posted by Lorenzo June 4, 2010 at 1:53 PMUpdate on Location: I am still waiting for an answer from the "amazing place", I should know tonight.
), we can always have TWO manageable and location-friendly meetups!
Posted by Lorenzo June 4, 2010 at 1:52 PMMy only concern with the Indigo is . . . that it is NOT in Boston/Cambridge.
Indeed this is the Boston meetup.
Jennifer took it upon herself to start a new chapter in Newton (see: http://www.meetup.com/Linch...
Jennifer needs help, can someone step up to the place and help her out?
Was just there last night for a networking soiree. IDEAL for this type of function! They have a pool (with cabanas to relax and chat in) as well as the lounge/ bar area opens onto the pool making it a NICE summer spot. Loads of space for mingling, good service, free parking and the T right next door!
Posted by Melody Bohl June 4, 2010 at 9:27 AMSo do we have a location. Let's ship this. Hotel Indigo has received the most praise so far.
Posted by Thom Cox June 4, 2010 at 8:59 AMFor those who are closer to Newton than to Boston there's a new NEWTON event: http://www.meetup.com/Linch...
Posted by Jennifer Fiorenza June 1, 2010 at 9:53 PMCan someone help me organize it?
Anyone have an insider into the Hotel Indigo ?
4 hours left to get 70 dollar seth godin tickets - only 9 more buys needed! http://www.groupon.com/deal...
Who's in?
Posted by Jess Weiss June 1, 2010 at 7:13 PMtalk about shipping: on Friday June 5 there will be StartUp Boston, for those of you who are going, ping me (I'll be there); for those Linchpins who are going, shout it here.
Posted by Lorenzo June 1, 2010 at 3:07 PMFor more info: http://boston.startupweeken...
Agreed. Indigo is great!
Posted by Mary Anne Richman May 31, 2010 at 8:46 PMThanks Lina - I just signed up. We need 76 more people to make the discount work, and only 5 hours left, so if anyone's interested, this is the time.

Posted by Melody Bohl May 31, 2010 at 3:27 PMJust a reminder that Seth's Road Trip will be in Boston on June 17, 2010. For tickets see: https://do-you-zoom-inc.tick...
.
Use the general code ?Seth100? for a discount.
Happy Memorial Day
Posted by Lorenzo May 30, 2010 at 11:14 PMAnd for those linchpins who are already involved in an early stage start up, you might want to consider Mass Challenge (see: http://masschallenge.org/
).
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Mass Challenge, I am only participating in it.
Posted by Lorenzo May 28, 2010 at 8:29 AMQuick note for those linchpins that are looking for their next entrepreneurial opportunity but they have not found it yet; you might want to take a look at Boston Startup Weekend, it is exactly what it sounds like, a bunch of linchpins getting together to start a company in one weekend (and then continue). More info: http://boston.startupweeken...
.
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with them, I am only participating in it.
Posted by Lorenzo May 28, 2010 at 8:27 AMGood Morning Linchpins: Cross your fingers that we might, just might get one of the BEST venue in town for entrepreneurs. I can't disclose the venue yet (and i don't want to jinx it), but I have hope, and the help of one of the Linchpins in this group.
Posted by Lorenzo May 27, 2010 at 8:59 AMWe should know by the end of next week, in the meanwhile stay tuned, spread the word to other linchpins, enjoy the upcoming loooooooong weekend, and . . . SHIP!
How about a few options in Boston? If you want to do something at a hotel, we could look at the Liberty Hotel in Beacon Hill, or the Langham downtown? There are a few places that could be good in the south end, but there aren't any T stops.
Posted by Joshua Snyder May 26, 2010 at 9:18 AMFYI . . . There's a new group on Linkedin - Linchpin USA - PLEASE no lizard brains LOL. Hope to see you all on Linkedin!!
Posted by Angela Dittig Moffatt May 25, 2010 at 9:17 PMBill: it's a bit too early to select ONE venue, I have my plug into a couple of VERY cool places and I am waiting for a response.
Posted by Lorenzo May 25, 2010 at 8:05 PMIt also depends on how many people we have, reaching 100 or more is not out of the question.
Keep the juices flowing . . . . .
Indigo Hotel Vote +1, count me in!

Linchpins per se have no geography restriction, there's a Linchpin Facebook group http://is.gd/coVMU
we can start the discussion there (FB is very conducive to that), but someone needs to take the idea and run with it. Anyone wants to "ship" this one? (I don't have the bandwidth). Margie???
Posted by Lorenzo May 25, 2010 at 3:23 PMI like the Linchpin magazine/compilation idea. I'd be happy to work on this, with who ever else might be interested. I'm a designer (mostly web) and if not this idea, then maybe a follow-up blog site with connecting information, or whatever people are interested in. It might be a nice way for people to continue the conversations that we've started and spread to more.
Posted by Margie Mintz May 25, 2010 at 2:34 PMHere's another vote for Indigo Hotel.
Posted by Margaret May 25, 2010 at 2:25 PMCheck out Linchpin Magazine from the London meetup group - very cool!! http://bit.ly/LinchMag
We should participate and/or replicate for Boston.
Posted by Tom Catalini May 25, 2010 at 2:08 PMI know this pool area and it is surprisingly nice, never too crowded. Not as noisy as a crowded enclosed space, and big enough to handle all comers...
Posted by Jay W Vogt May 25, 2010 at 2:02 PMI'm with Margie!!! Indigo Hotel rooftop for sure! Right off the T and tons of parking. Oh and a pool, don't forget about the pool. I see drinks with umbrellas in our future.
Posted by Heather K. Margolis May 25, 2010 at 1:50 PMA pool party at the new Indigo hotel - rooftop - in Newton?
Posted by Margie Mintz May 25, 2010 at 11:34 AMBoston Linchpins also on Twitter! http://twitter.com/bostonli...

Posted by Lorenzo May 24, 2010 at 9:49 AMAlways been a fan of Vlora on Boylston St. Good food, perfect ambiance for conversations. Plus Aldo is the man!
Posted by Yifei May 24, 2010 at 9:33 AMLove getting Seth's blog posting each morning...and he actually replies to my occasional comments back.

Posted by Lorenzo May 24, 2010 at 7:46 AMAs for venue, what about Union Street Bar and Grille in Newton Center? Plenty of parking and public transportation (Green D-line, Newton Center stop) across the street.

Posted by Lorenzo May 24, 2010 at 7:28 AMDearest Boston Linchpins, welcome to this most excellent event. A few things that we can all do to make this meetup a success:
Posted by Lorenzo May 24, 2010 at 6:31 AM1) Spread the word: tell all of your linchpin friends about it
2) Suggest a venue by posting a comment
3) Suggest both small and large venue, since we do not know yet the size of the group 4) When suggesting a venue, think about parking and accessibility Looking forward to experience Linchpin Day!
...and see Seth LIVE just three days later (on the 17th) at his first "Seth Godin/Live on Tour!" event in Boston at John Hancock Hall. Visit www.squidoo.com/sethroad trip for more info. Follow us @bostonlinchpins!
