The 2nd New York Linchpin Meet Up will be one month from the original meet up on July 14th, 2010 from 6-10 PM. In a change of scenery, we will move the event from Veranda to The Willow Lounge. The soon-to-be-opened Willow Lounge is managed by my business partner, Aleksey Kernes. The space acts as a full restaurant by day and martini lounge after dark. While still in its soft-opening phase, we will be given the venue to throw what we think can be an equally successful event.
During the last Meet Up, we had a board to tack on your business card. Afterward, your information was put into a Google doc and shared amongst the others who also left their card. For this event, if you are already part of the spreadsheet from the first event, please do not put up your card; however, if you are new to our Linchpin Meet Ups, you are encouraged to leave your card, or your info on an index card (which will be provided).
Since the first event, a few people have turned to the list of Linchpins in the spreadsheet to offer their services or to post jobs. We'll look to build the list of Linchpins after every event.
After the first event, Aleksey and I said we'd like to try and incorporate a charity aspect to the next event. With charity in mind, we thought we can start a “books for charity exchange. “ If you have physical copies of any of Seth's books (not on your e-reader) or even other books you found insightful that you'd like to share with other guests, please do so. On the inside cover, feel free to write your name and a suggested value you think somebody should pay, or rather donate. We will set up a table to trade books on site for you to browse. There will be complimentary passed hors d'oeuvres and drink specials. $7 cocktails/martini's (NOT well drinks) and $5 beer/wine.
